VineSight, which has developed a platform that tracks, analyzes and mitigates online misinformation and toxicity against brands, campaigns and causes, announced on Thursday a $4 million Seed financing round. The round was led by AnD Ventures, with Lightbank, 25Madison, SeedIL, the Technion investment arm, and additional angel investors, also participating.

The Israeli startup’s platform leverages AI to identify suspicious share patterns across Twitter, Telegram, Facebook, Tiktok, and other platforms. VineSight’s novel approach focuses on share patterns rather than the content itself, resulting in a 99% positive identification rate, according to the company. In addition, the platform uses the same method to help brands uncover and amplify authentic positive stories in their early stages so they can engage with or promote them.

Despite being relatively early stage, VineSight’s clients include some of the world’s largest vaccine manufacturers, Fortune 500 companies, and major nonprofits in the U.S. According to the company, over the past year and a half its revenue has grown 5x and it has reached profitability.

“A company can have the greatest product, a candidate can be a fantastic leader, and a cause might be just, but in the age of online bad actors, one viral, toxic post has the power to destroy it all before they have a chance to defend themselves,” said Dr. Gideon Blocq, CEO of VineSight. “This is a huge problem for businesses and society as a whole. Our solution aims to level the playing field so that it won’t be easy for bad actors to have their toxicity go viral. With this funding round we plan to improve our already effective platform further to stay ahead of the threats and expand access so more brands, campaigns and causes can protect themselves.”

“VineSight brings a truly unique solution to one of the biggest issues out there for businesses and just about everyone else out there today,” said Lee Moser, Managing Partner of AnD Venture. “While the platform itself is a rare find, the fact that they’re already profitable, have a significant number of Fortune 500 clients, and have prevented election interference and misinformation at the highest levels is almost unheard of. Their impact is already great and with their team, tech, and the growing need to counter online misinformation, their potential for growth and impact is enormous.”
